The Glen Rose City Events Department provides numerous volunteer opportunities at our events throughout the year.

Big Rocks Chili & BBQ Cook-Off – Held annually each February
Spring & Fall Bluegrass Jamboree – Annual (3-DAY) events celebrating Bluegrass music in the Bluegrass Capital of Texas.
Memorial Day Weekend Band Bash – Annual full day concert event / Kick off to the summer!
Hometown 4th of July – Parade and Family fun games on the square.
Day of the Cowboy – The event celebrates Cowboy Culture, and will feature a parade in the morning at 8am with a day full of demonstrations by iron workers, farriers, leather toolers, wood workers, etc… There will be access to horse and carriage rides, chuck wagons, historical tours, gun fights, musicians and more. Vendors featuring items that cater to cowboy culture will be in attendance. Some of our neighboring areas who tout cowboy culture will also be present sharing their information as well. The Mounted Shooters will be in town that weekend at the Expo, and will be helping out during the event, as well as advertising it to their attendees.
Boo in the Park – City sponsored fun night out at Oakdale Park for kids in the community. Games, fun, & treats!
Hometown Christmas – Each weekend from after Thanksgiving until the week of Christmas, fun events will take place around the city. Christmas Bazaar, Caroling, Tour of homes, decorated cabin drive through & more!
